When I eat a good meal, I talk about it while I’m eating. I get passionate about good food. At home, I like to cook vegetables and tofu in a wok. The George Foreman Grill also works. A favorite meal is brown rice, tofu, assorted peppers, onions, and garlic. I like Trader Joe’s Red Curry and Yellow Curry sauces that I’ll mix with soy milk and a little alfredo sauce. After my veggies and tofu are cooked, I’ll drop them in the sauce, then pour all that over the rice. I sprinkle crushed peanuts over that, and I have a delicious Thai-style dish.

I’m funny about meat. I eat chicken, fish, thin-sliced beef, turkey slices or burger, and the occasional beef burger, but I don’t like to prepare meat myself. I prefer to eat meat that’s already been pulled off the bone. When I tear into a piece of meat on the bone, I feel like a dog with long teeth for ripping meat. Weird, I know. I never eat thick steaks or pork loin…just not my thing to have a big piece of meat on my plate.

I seek out small, casual, mom & pop, ethnic restaurants where value is high and you can see and taste the pride and love in the food. My favorite food is Jamaican, Thai, Korean, and Indian. Of course I love pizza, subs, and Italian food like anybody. It tastes great, especially when you’re in the mood to eat a lot. But I’d rather make pasta at home where I use whole wheat or spinach pasta. Since I go to the beach on Massachusetts’ North Shore and South Shore a lot, I’m near some of the best fresh seafood. I love fried clams and I admit to eating too many of them in the spring, summer, and early fall. I need to start eating more baked fish.
